Injured Real trio doubtful for Spurs clash

Released on - Friday,01 April , 2011 -13:40
Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho said injured trio Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcelo appear unlikely to be fit to play Tottenham in the Champions League next week.
"According to the information that I have from the medical service, Cristiano can only play at Bilbao (on April 9), Marcelo can only play at Bilbao and Karim can only play at Bilbao," Mourinho told a news conference on Friday.
The three players, who trained apart from the rest of the squad on Friday morning, would therefore to be unavailable for the Champions League quarter-final first leg clash with Tottenham in Madrid on Tuesday.
They would also miss Saturday's league match on Saturday against Sporting Gijon.
Portugal striker Ronaldo suffered a recurrence of a thigh injury last week, while Brazil winger Marcelo is also fighting his way back from injury.
France forward Benzema suffered a thigh injury during France's scoreless draw with Croatia in a friendly Tuesday in Paris.
Real are second in Spain's Primera Liga, five points behind arch-rivals Barcelona.
