Real Madrid's general director Jorge Valdano has taken the time to praise Cristiano Ronaldo in the wake of his performance in Tuesday evening's 4-0 win over Getafe.
The Portugal international netted a hat-trick to help his side to the points and has now scored 36 La Liga goals in the 2010-11 campaign.
'I am delighted with the serious game the team played. The players proved to be true professionals and gave a resounding performance. The crowd had fun, making us come full circle,' said Valdano on the club's official website.
'Cristiano Ronaldo is amazing and a great professional. The team's performance was incredibly solid; the players only looked to pass the ball to Ronaldo more often than not when the game was practically sealed.'
Valdano also talked about potential summer arrivals and made it clear that Madrid do not plan any more additions in the upcoming days, after completing a deal for Borussia Dortmund's Nuri Sahin earlier in the week.
'Future signings will be announced when we confirm them. We announced Sahin's signing earlier than expected because he was going to say farewell to his former team.'
Madrid are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Bayern Munich midfielder Hamit Altintop, who is available on a free transfer.
