Gmail Hacked: Phishing in Troubled Waters?

This day was bound to arrive, but no one thought that it would be played out in such an entertaining manner. Thousands of Google email accounts have been hacked by Chinese coders, including Gmail accounts that were being used by top brass US military officers and journalists.

However, Google refuses to get off its high horse. It maintains that its systems haven't been compromised, but that the hackers managed to get passwords from the account owners by tricking them into revealing them through a method known as "spear phishing".
